weird day

It's been an interesting day alright. It started off kinda weird - last night I watched The Muppets, which is quite possibly my favourite movie from last year (definitely the most enjoyable theatre experience I had last year), and it gave me odd dreams I think. Near by bed (on it when it's made, on the side otherwise) is a Build-A-Bear my wife made me way back where we were dating, a little black bear in a Bruins uniform (Phil Bear, for the record, after then-Bruin Phil Kessel), and sometime in the wee small hours of the morning I woke up and started taking his jersey off. I do not know why, and I remember sort of waking up halfway through and was like "what the eff am I doing?" I think I started putting it back on and then was like wait, I should be sleeping, and just left him there like he is now. I don't even know, it was kind of bizarre, not gonna lie.

The other weird thing was when I went to court this morning. It was pretty cold, as we got a little bit of snow last night, and it was still chilly out today. I parked my car across the road from the courthouse - it was a first appearance day and even though I was there 10m early it was still packed - and went to cross the road, when I heard a little 'ting!' noise and noticed my wedding ring was no longer on my finger. Uh-oh. I was crossing at a crosswalk and there were no cars coming, so I took a minute or two to look at the ground, figuring the morning sun would bounce off of the shiny silver and show me its location in no time flat. Noooooope. So after moving back to look at another angle, a car or two drive by, which makes me panic. What if by some freak coincidence the ring got imbedded in one of those tires and was being driven away? Or what if it fell on its side and went rolling down the hill somewhere - the court is sort of on a hill, kinda - which meant it could be anywhere by now. Oh man. Not only did I lose my ring, but there went my idea of getting there early to talk to the Crown (which, by the by, failed anyway since she didn't show up until after the 9:30 start time anyway >.>). I decided to go inside and get one of the bailiffs to maybe come help me find it, reaching into my pocket for my keys as I did so - and, to my relief, felt the ring in my pants pocket. It had apparently fallen off as I was putting my hand in my pocket and the 'ting!' had been it hitting the keys. Pheeeeeeeeew. Needless to say I've been looking down at my finger very frequently all day, haha. I'm guessing the cold shrunk my finger or something because it's usually not a problem, so yeah, just weird.

Other than that, work went well enough, and this evening I gave myself the task of redeeming all the digital copies of movies I have laying about the room while watching You Again. A few of them were already expired, sadly, and a few require downloads - 1.5gb or so each and my connection suuuuuuuuuucks, so may do it overnight or something - and reorganized a few things. I also made wings for supper but they sucked, the first batch of them I cooked (way back on Superbowl Sunday) were awful but I slightly overcooked (read: burnt) them, but these were actually just as bad even though I was way more observant with them. Must either be a bad batch or just bad wings overall I guess, which sucks. Ah well. I'm kinda proud that I actually made supper instead of getting take out; the folks are in the city to help my sister move to her new apartment (that's a whole 'nother story itself, for another time maybe) so I was on my own, but I'm trying to cut back. In that vein, the girls at work are doing a little friendly competition to see who can lose the most weight, and I'm so in on it. Tomorrow morning we weigh in at the office and we'll be keeping track, though I'll have to do it on my own while in the US next week. Still, I love the idea, and encouragement is always a good thing, since left to my own devices, well. Yeah. So this will be good. :)

weird dreams

Gotta run off to a breakfast meeting thingy this morning but just had to document this first. Some very weird dreams, which started with me driving to Philadelphia to see my wife. That part's not weird, but in the dream it only took me like an hour to drive there, which was. And even in the dream I was like "gee, why don't I do this more often? It's only an hour! I should be buying all my stuff here even!"

I got to her place of work and as soon as I got in the door I hauled off my shirt and sweater and started walking around topless. I just dumped the shirt on the floor at the entrance. Went to the washroom, freshened up, then went to look at the men's clothes to get a new shirt, when a Target employee brought me my shirt and I was like "oh yeah, this, thanks."

I bought a new shirt, then still had to wait for my wife, so I went out to a swamp. That makes sense, yeah? In the swamp there was a bed and pillows already set up, so I got comfy, bringing my own things too, and just lay there reading. A policeman came by and asked if I was local because the bed was for locals only. I showed him a pic of me and Sara in my wallet, but it wasn't a photo, it was an anime-style drawing of the two of us which looked pretty badass, heh. When he found out I was Canadian he said I'd need a photo ID from STU to stay there - STU = St. Thomas University, which is in Fredericton, NB, still not the US, but I was like "oh, ok, that's only around the corner, thanks sir!" And then I made up my swamp bed, took my things, and went to get my photo.

Yeah, I don't even know.
So, it's been a pretty good weekend so far. It's almost over, and I'm writing this from the office sadly (had a few things to clue up that I just threw my arms up in the air come 5pm Friday and said I'd deal with it later, hah), but still, it's been nice.

Friday saw me run out of the office as soon as I could, heh, and I dove into more LOTRO when I got home, finally getting my Hunter to the level cap of 65 just before our raid that night, which was a nice bonus. It was a lot of fun, I love the class so much, but as soon as I did it I shot [livejournal.com profile] believeitup a tell saying something along the lines of "...I don't know what to do now." Which is true, kinda. I mean, I have a lot of polishing to do if I want to use her for raiding and such; she's in rough shape since I basically just leveled like mad and didn't spend all that much time tweaking her stats or her traits. That's what I'll work on for now, I suppose, but almost as soon as I hit 65 and the satisfaction of doing that wore off (which was very fast), I felt a little aimless again.

That being said, I have some ideas for my main character there, a Burglar, but that'll take some time to develop and get ready, so I do have some things to occupy my time at least, which is a good thing. I'm thinking I'll split the difference this week between polishing my Hunter and working on stuff for my Burg, and I'll be just fine.

Friday night we raided and had a rough time at first, rough enough that one of our regulars who's been having a hard time dropped group mid-raid again and is taking some time away from raiding, which is sad. He's a good guy and a great player, just very frustrated with things and the new raid, and I think there's some real life things going on too maybe, so I can totally understand why he'd be upset, but it sucks to lose him just the same. Hopefully some time away will do him some good and he'll be back soon enough, I know that's helped with me in the past. After that we lowered the difficulty and knocked out 2 of the 6 bosses in the new raid that night, which was nice.

Saturday afternoon I spent polishing my Hunter some more, and then Saturday night we were back in the new raid again, at the lower difficulty level again, and we knocked out the third boss and aaaaaaalmost have the fourth one down, which is awesome since we'd never even set foot inside the fourth area before last night. We're getting better at it, and I think by running it on the lower setting for now we're getting the strategies down and (hopefully) getting better gear and weapons out of it, so we can then tackle the harder setting and be more successful. It was a good night, with some communication issues aside, and hopefully we can build on that from here on out.

Other than that, had some weird, weird dreams last night. I dreamed I was in the game, which isn't unusual in and of itself (when I play a lot like I have lately this is a common thing, heh), but in my dream we were going to a raid area and passed a mailbox, where all these half-naked characters with lewd and odd names were lined up by the mailbox. Someone in the raid told me that they're the people who mail out all those Viagra and enhancement spam ads, and this is how they do it. And then we went into the raid which... wasn't a raid at all, but an episode of Glee, and I was in it. We were going to a strange school, looking for one of the students there, who or why I have no idea, but I was helping. And I ended up performing "Crazy" by Aerosmith while looking around, heh. Very very very odd indeed. >.>

So, that's my weekend in a nutshell. Now back to finishing up some paperwork and then back home to watch some hockey and either do more Hunter polishing or working on my Burg, or maybe I'll just read or watch a movie or something, we'll see. Hope everyone else has had a good weekend! :)

So, yeah. Tonight was kinda weird. I had fun and all, and got a lot done in Star Wars Galaxies, by the way. Even got some roleplaying in, and a nice, long chat with some cool peeps. But it was kind of odd, I don't know what it is. I've been feeling a little off lately, and it's still there. Hmmm. Oh well, it's nothing bad I don't think, just... weird. We'll see how tomorrow goes, I guess.

I had to shovel for TWO HOURS to get to work this morning. Gah! I don't want to shovel at all tomorrow if I can help it. My back is seriously hurting, my arms too. Stupid snow. It's not supposed to snow all weekend either, which probably means it'll be back for Monday. >.<

Well, it's almost 5am. Think I'll read for a little bit in bed before sleeping. I miss reading, I really should do more of it I think. *nods*
