sigh

canadiandiamond: ([BSG] and now that you're here...?)
Slowly, slowly packing things away. Really do not want to leave, each time gets harder than the last and this time with the whole getting married bit, well... yeah. Le sigh. Everything will be ok, I know, but it's still hard leaving each time. The hardest part is trying to sleep that first night / waking up alone the first morning. :/

But ok, enough of that. Time to shut down this shiny new desktop I bought (thanks for letting me use your monitor T!) and pack my stuff up, oops. Sara's going to help me and we have about 45mins. before our original plan to be out of here so we should be ok. Hope everyone's well and see you all again soon from the other side of the border.

p.s. I love this icon and use it too much, oops.

First thing's first, Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] believeitup and [livejournal.com profile] girlyduck! :D I hope the UK is treating you well, Erin, and that your travel there was much better than mine was to the US. XD

Sorry for not updating sooner, but I've been busy unpacking, hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] believeitup and [livejournal.com profile] onlyonechoice (and Miss Kaylee!), and forgot to post here, oops. I arrived safely on Sunday night and was greeted by both my lovely fiancée and her roomie, and we got home and watched Death Race before calling it an early night.

Yesterday was more of the same, relaxing and not really doing much, as Sara had the day off. We hung out and watched TV and then when T came home we went out to round up some new kitteh supplies and then grabbed some supper. We clued up the day by catching me up a little in Supernatural, as I hadn't seen any of the new season up until last night. Very cool stuff. :D

Today I booked a rental car and am going to be picked up by the company in the next 5-10 minutes, ack, so I need to run. More as the trip progresses, but yes, I'm here safe and sound and everything's ok. Hope everyone else is well too and talk to you all again soon! :D

So, I keep putting this off for one reason or another, but it's about time I wrote up a little summary about my trip to Boston. In a nutshell, it was a fantastic trip and I had a great time! It wasn't the longest time I've spent in the States (I was in Boston/Philadelphia/NYC for two weeks last year) but it was the longest I've spent there in the same place and more importantly the longest time with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] believeitup, so that made it all the more better. Quite a lot happened and there's a lot of text under the cut, you are warned!

*takes a deep breath* Here we go! )

Annnnnnnnd that's about it in a nutshell. I've uploaded my pictures from the trip to Facebook and even if you don't have an account / have me friended there you can see them here via the public link. It was a fantastic time and I can't wait to go back, even if technically I may be going back to Philadelphia instead of Boston. It will still be fun! :D And now I must go watch the last half of the 3rd period. Go Red Wings and Cleary, who may be the first Newfoundlander to win the Cup, woo! :D

I'm a little later leaving than I thought I'd be, but nevertheless I am on my way to the city to catch a flight to [livejournal.com profile] believeitup, yay! I'll be back here on the 21st and may update here and there while in Boston, we shall see. Bye everybody! :D

Hey all, just a quick post on my sister's friend's laptop while they both lay in bed behind me trying to sleep, oops. >.> Still in Philly, it's been awesome so far and my sister and I hit NYC tomorrow. Boston was amazing, of course, because it was all with [livejournal.com profile] everyoung ♥, and Philly has been amazing too, with [livejournal.com profile] everyoung, [livejournal.com profile] tanya_ltp and [livejournal.com profile] beanarie. So much fun omg. I don't even know where to begin and I should prooooobably go to bed since we have to checkout by noon and go catch a train and all.

Anyway, more to come one of these days when I get five minutes all to myself (and a computer along with it), just a quick note to say I'll be home again a week from today... ok, a week from yesterday as it's technically Monday now, heh. Hope everyone's doing well and there will be more to come, including pictures! :D

...realizing that there are three DVDs out for sale today which you would like to add to your collection and only buying one. Maybe true restraint would be not buying any at all but, well, it's me we're talking about here. Marie Antoinette, Stranger Than Fiction and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny all came out on DVD today. I chose to pick up the latter only, which I'm watching right now. Good times! I think seeing Jack Black on the Oscars the other night may have influenced my decision.

I'm also picking out clothes and whatnot that I need to pack for my upcoming trip. It's hard to believe that it's almost Friday already, it seemed like I'd never be leaving there for awhile but it's almost time! It shouldn't be too hard to pack for, I've got a lot of clean clothes ready to go, and I have a few things to remember to take (hockey tickets for Saturday night of course!), so I plan to get cracking on that after the movie.

Speaking of which, time to pay more attention to it now that the opening credits are over! :D

Today I got confirmation that our tickets to The Daily Show will be waiting for us in NYC, woo! None of the other shows seem to be possible to attend, unless we try to get stand-by tickets for Letterman or Conan, so it's good to know we have at least one sure thing. I'd like to try for Conan but I guess we'll just have to play that one by ear.

[eta] Apparently the Wednesday we're in NYC, Conan is slated to have Andy Richter as a guest with The Shins as the musical guest, holy crap. I think we shall have to take a stab at that, because that would be awesome.

I just watched the movie Fifty Pills, which was a waste of 83 minutes. Well, not completely I suppose, since Kristen Bell is in it and all, heh. But other than that, and a few pleasant surprises (mainly Nora Zehetner, aka Eden in Heroes, having a small role) it was a waste.

Other than that I watched about 10 or so episodes of Smallville today, bringing me up to speed with the show as it airs. Huzzah! I think I just might do the same with Supernatural tomorrow, though I've only got 5-6 episodes of that to watch. I think, anyway, it may be more than that, hmmm. We'll see tomorrow anyway.

I can't wait for this week to be over, since I start my little two week vacation on Friday. I have court first thing on Monday though, and on Thursday too, and a ton of crap to do before I leave as well. I really do enjoy vacation time, it sucks preparing for it though. I definitely worry about something going wrong while I'm gone too, though I can't think of anything coming up that we haven't already prepared for. At least there'll be someone else left in the office just in case. Things like Christmas break are always better because then the whole office is shut down and things can't pile up / come up then while you're gone. At any rate, it'll be a good break, no matter what happens while I'm gone, and I can't wait for it to start.

Alright, it's off to bed for me I believe. I think I'll have to drive into St. John's on Monday morning, so that means I can't stay up too late tomorrow night which in turn means I shouldn't spend all day tomorrow in bed, hehe. So off I go!

So we got another ton of snow last night, and it's still snowing out and windy. There was no work this morning, and no one called to say whether the office was or wasn't open this afternoon. I felt obligated to call and find out, and sure enough a few of the girls made their way in to get some things done. The boss checked in and found out they were there and he's on his way apparently, as well as one of the other girls, so I guess I should go over myself. I'm not going to get suited up though, I'll just go in like I am. I have no appointments, just a lot of paperwork to catch up on.

It's going to be a tough week because my assistant, Laura, had surgery today and will be out of the office for at least this week, probably longer. It's good that she's having it because it was a real problem for her and this should fix it, but it's going to make things busier for me around the office. It shouldn't be too bad though, and maybe by going over today and starting some things I can avoid a lot of the hassle that'd come up since she won't be around the rest of the week. I know I have 3 appointments tomorrow for instance, and I want to make sure I have all the necessary paperwork done up before that.

In non-work related things, my sister and I talked more about our NYC trip last night. We've got tickets booked for a return flight now, and I've requested / bookmarked a lot of sites for requesting tickets to shows, games, that kind of thing. It should be fun! We need to sit down and plot things out since there's a lot to do and we'll pretty much have to do everything together, but I'm sure it'll be alright.

Anyway, I should get over to work. It's going for 1:30pm so I'll only have to punch in 3.5 hours today, that's nothing. Off I go!
