First thing's first, Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] believeitup and [livejournal.com profile] girlyduck! :D I hope the UK is treating you well, Erin, and that your travel there was much better than mine was to the US. XD

Sorry for not updating sooner, but I've been busy unpacking, hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] believeitup and [livejournal.com profile] onlyonechoice (and Miss Kaylee!), and forgot to post here, oops. I arrived safely on Sunday night and was greeted by both my lovely fiancée and her roomie, and we got home and watched Death Race before calling it an early night.

Yesterday was more of the same, relaxing and not really doing much, as Sara had the day off. We hung out and watched TV and then when T came home we went out to round up some new kitteh supplies and then grabbed some supper. We clued up the day by catching me up a little in Supernatural, as I hadn't seen any of the new season up until last night. Very cool stuff. :D

Today I booked a rental car and am going to be picked up by the company in the next 5-10 minutes, ack, so I need to run. More as the trip progresses, but yes, I'm here safe and sound and everything's ok. Hope everyone else is well too and talk to you all again soon! :D

It's only early into the date, but still, it needs to be said:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] bunnytough!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥

I hope you have a great one! :D

Not much else new to report... I picked up the new Springsteen album today but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Also paid a lot of bills / ran errands / had a busy day at work, but it's all good. We picked our hockey playoff pool too, so we'll see how that goes. I think I might do ok with it this year, it all depends on how long the teams last in this pool.

But yes, court tomorrow morning, so off to bed I go!

So, it's been a pretty good birthday. I left to come into the city on Saturday afternoon, getting in just before supper time. I was able to get some food with my sister and her bf, then browse around the mall a little bit. After that I met up with my buddy from law school at his cousin's house. It was his cousin's husband's birthday, so they had a party planned for him. I know them pretty well, and my friend from school of course, and over the course of the night I got to know their friends pretty well too. We had a house party, with no going down town, just a bunch of us playing guitar, singing and drinking. I brought in mine and like three other guys had theirs. One gue brought a drum even, so we had a beat to play along with. :D It was very cool.

Today I had lunch with another friend which was nice, then headed for the mall again. I picked up the first season of Dead Like Me, which I've been hemming and hawing over getting for ages now. Since today was my b-day and all, I committed and picked it up, heh. Also got this "strategy" guide for WoW at Chapters, which is mainly useful for the maps and list of quests. 'Cause seriously, the game's huuuuuuuuuuge.

Oh! And I had a crazy dream last night too, which I feel the urge to relay to y'all. I was at home and one of my friends from law school, who's working in the North now, and [livejournal.com profile] beanarie were there too. We chatted for a while, and then the latter started showing us the route she drove to get here. XD I think a projector screen and something resembling Google Earth was used. JM was all "Here's my house, and here's the road I drove down to there, then there, and onto this highway..." etc. XD After that we were all in this weird Danger Room-esque place, where it looked like we were out in this huge open meadow and could run about. Whenever I blinked though I saw the walls and these pillars that were there, and I could feel them even though you normally couldn't see them, so I was like "Watch out! Don't run around!" so people wouldn't get hurt. Yes, I was drinking last night, but not very much!

Anyway, I headed back here to my parents' place around supper time, seeing as my sister told me how mom made a cake and stuff, thinking I'd be out. I could've stayed in the city and got a hold of more friends, but I didn't want hearing that. Besides, most of them have to work tomorrow, unlike me. :D I also need to run a few errands around here tomorrow, so it's really for the best. Plus I'll spend less money here than in the city, hehe.

All in all, not too bad. I was kinda hoping my friend Jaime in Alberta would call me like she did last year. Come to think of it, that's when we formed my plan for my eventual summer vacation, with me staying at her place in Edmonton for the first part of it. I'm half tempted to call her, but that'd be kinda sad, calling people up to be like "So... it's my birthday! ^_^;;" XD Maybe she'll call or e-mail later, that'd be nice. I don't think I've heard from any of my law school friends, save for the one I talk to the most and was at the party with last night. None from MUN either, ah well.

Some more playoff hockey is in order, then maybe a little reading and some sleep. Don't want to sleep in too, too late tomorrow, as I want to get back to Marystown before it gets super late. We'll see how that goes, because sleep is so very good. :D

Well, it was quite the busy weekend, but an enjoyable one. I went out to St. John's much later than I intended on Friday, with work getting busy that afternoon. So I didn't get in until after 9pm, closer to 10, and then I was out home after getting up on Saturday. It was my Nan's 80th birthday party then, and my sister and I got there at the tail end of the reception. There were still lots of people there, and a lot of them were all like "ooh look, it's the lawyer!" when I got there. Mostly distant relatives and friends of the family that I don't know very well, but it was nice of them to all show up for Nan's big day.

After the reception we all headed to my aunt's house for supper and more drinks, which was nice. All of nan's kids (9 in total) were there, and a nice few of my 1st cousins as well. Quite the crowd, and it was nice to see some of the ones that I hadn't seen in years. [livejournal.com profile] avalonmissy was there too, as well as [livejournal.com profile] lethendy, it was cool to hang out with them too.

Then today I drove back to the city and then back here again... I think I put almost 1,000 kilometers on the car this weekend alone, holy crap. This weekend when I head out for the Blue Rodeo concert will be the 4th weekend in a row that I've drove out home. Craziness! Most of the time I've only been in the city one night, getting in late and then going to my parents' place for the remainder of the weekend, but this time I should stay in the city the whole time. We'll see, I suppose.

At any rate, it's getting late and I do have to go to work tomorrow, boo. I was originally going to stay in the city and attend a seminar tomorrow but those plans got thrown out last week. Oh well, probably for the best 'cause I'd just spend more money that I shouldn't be wasting if I was in there, I think. Need to save some for the concert next week! :)

I started re-reading my NaNo entry again, finally, and after reading a page or two I've found a couple of mistakes and incongruencies already. Grrrrrr. I do like it so far though, maybe I can somehow find the time to finish up the story, it was cool to get that far with it. We'll see.

Anyway, going home for the weekend again, this time for my nan's 80th birthday party. Should be fun, a ton of relatives are home for it and some other people should be around too. Good times! And I'm going to try to take off a little early from work too if I can. Cross your fingers for me!
