Had a weird, weird dream last night, one that stuck in my head well after waking up this morning.

For some reason there was a general meeting called for the members of XP, not an online one either but meeting up in real life. So I of course, being a member, went along with it, going to someone's apartment somewhere. I have no idea whose place it was supposed to be, or where it actually was, but I showed up at an apartment and knocked on the door.

Inside there were several people already there, but they were all standing off to the sides of the room in the shadows so I couldn't make any of them out. It was kinda spooky. More people showed up and moved to the sides, and then I heard someone's voice over a loudspeaker of some sort. The voice told me I had to fight someone now in armed combat, which, well, ok. Being a dream I just rolled with it, and was handed a wooden staff with which to fight. Another person, again I have no idea who it was, approached me with a staff of their own and we fought. I have no idea how to fight period in real life, let alone with a weapon, haha, but it was a pretty good duel in my dream!

I can't remember who got the better of who but at some point one of us smacked the other in the face - I think it was probably me who got hit - and as a result some blood dripped onto the carpet in the apartment. I freaked out and was like "AHHH! Sorry we made a mess! I'll clean it up right away!" and I went to get some water and a towel or a cloth or something.

I was frantically cleaning it up when three huge, metallic forms came into the apartment, like gigantic Transformers of some sort, even though they shouldn't have been able to fit into the apartment but, well, dream. And I remember thinking "oh crap, it's the mods!" Everything went quiet and then they were talking amongst themselves and I remember being scared that I was going to be kicked out of XP because I spilled blood on the carpet of someone's apartment. :(

And then I woke up. XD

At first I was worried about Dad getting a cell phone, that he'd be calling me all the time or texting or whatnot, worried where I was, etc. But nope, it's all good, with the added bonus of him and his constant battle with auto correct. Which, well. See for yourself in this text he sent to Mom tonight. XD

Oh Dad. )

Ok, I should be asleep by now, and I will be soon. I just felt the need to check my e-mail and such, and couldn't help but share this little story.

I came into the city tonight around supper time, and after dropping my stuff off here at my sister's place I called up my friend Mark to see if he wanted to get a coffee or something. He works in here now and doesn't have a car, in fact on MSN earlier today he was saying how he wanted to rent this movie but Blockbuster was too far away, and he didn't want to take the bus, etc. etc. So I call him up to see if he wants to hit BB, maybe get some food, whatever. He's at work so I drive down there to get him.

When I get there I call him on his cell and wait for him to come down. I parked in the front of his building, on Duckworth St. (useless to no one but [livejournal.com profile] bunnytough really, but a fairly old and busy street). The entrance is actually around the corner, but I reckon he'll peek around the corner and see me once he comes out. He doesn't, and after waiting for 10 mins. or so he calls back and I tell him to look around the damn corner, hehe.

The funny part though is during that 10 minutes, about 5 mins. after I got there, I'm sitting in the car, playing with my phone (it's still new to me and a great toy :D) when someone opens the door and sticks their head in. The first thing I noticed was the cigarette dangling from their lips, which is odd because Mark doesn't smoke. Then I see it's not Mark, hehe. It's some girl I've never seen before, and she asks me "Are you waiting here for me?" It takes a second or two to register what's going on, and I all but flail and gesture wildly at Mark's building before spitting out "No, I'm waiting for someone else, in there. Sorry." Why I apologized, I don't know, but she just shuts the door and walks back to the corner by Mark's building and stands there.

Good times! XD

...I think I just might need to get a new favourite NHL team, after what happened today. Yes, they're having a horrible season when they could do much better. I'm kinda used to that, no biggie. Even when they have a great season, they wash out early in the playoffs to crappy teams. It happens. But this? This is fucking insane. You do not trade away your future to jump start your team, or because you're disappointed in that player's performance, or whatever. It was totally out of left field, it gets rid of the core of your team that you've been building around since 1997, and YOU GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR HIM. I mean, goddammit. I'm seriously pissed off right now. The only thing keeping me from swearing this damn team off forever is looking at this icon, from back in the good old days when they actually looked after their star players. How dare they do this, especially after signing him to a long term contract over the summer? And getting NOTHING for him! I can't even think straight anymore, this is so fucking terrible.
