I forgot how much I really love this song, I even made an icon from it, hehe. Let the Jimmy Eat World weekend commence! *sings along*
Yesterday was one of the more stressful days I've had at work in a long time, and I'm afraid it's just a precursor to the last remaining two weeks before I get to spend my holidays with
believeitup. Which, incidentally, is scheduled to touch down at 2:42pm EST or 4:12pm NL time, or exaaaaaaactly one hour from now as I type this. Two weeks and one hour, I can hold on that long. And really, it's not even that long, because when I walk out of the office door that Friday afternoon is when I'll really feel free. That being said, though, the boss said I have to leave them my cell # (they already have it though) in case anyone calls over the break; it sounds like he doesn't want to have to deal with any DUIs or family stuff, and I can't blame him, but, boss? I'll be in fucking Philadelphia, you know, a whole country away, so calling me won't really accomplish much but interrupt the precious little time I already have with my fiancée. I'm not going to even worry about that right now, I don't have anything that looks like it'll explode over that time, so here's hoping it stays that way. And even if something does, heaven forbid, there's nothing I'll be able to do because I am not going to be cutting my trip short for anything. Even from a purely practical point of view, it would cost a fortune to change the tickets, and from an emotional point of view, I... no. N. O. Period. End of sentence, end of discussion.
*takes a deep breath* Right, sorry! I'll just leave it at work was stressful, and no more work until Monday, except for some emergency stuff that has to be done tomorrow, but that's still tomorrow. So, yes.
When I got off of work I popped into Wal-Mart and picked up part of a Christmas gift for one of my best friends, some snacks for what I presumed was going to be a long night of LOTRO (oh ho it was!), annnnnnd a little something for me for having survived the day. Yes, I pamper myself way too much. I picked up the Special Edition DVD of Step Brothers because it was the only one left on the shelves there, and it was a really movie in my opinion. I won't be buying anything else for me from here on out, though. *bats eyelashes apologetically at
believeitup* Hey, at least it means we can watch it when I get to Philly, yes? Yes. ♥
After that I picked up some supper and headed home. The folks picked up their own stuff and let me do the same, which was actually kinda nice for a change. Sometime mom will get something on Fridays when she just doesn't want to cook or make anything, but Fridays are often crazy for me and if she does that I'll get home late and have to reheat stuff, which sucks. So tonight it worked out well, as they had their own supper and I picked my own up. They were almost finished theirs by the time I got home so it was a good idea this time around. I then retreated upstairs and surfed for a bit, reading old journal entries, listening to music, etc., and generally relaxed for a few hours.
After that I couldn't resist any longer and plunged into LOTRO around 8:30pm or so, and did some solo quests and tied up some old quests in order to hit level 58 myself. It was right about that time that I got a random invite from a friend of mine in there, whose main characters for the most part revolve around the prefix 'Nai'... she has Naira, Nairobe, Nairosa, etc., so we just call her Nai. She's a really nice girl, and to get a random invite from her just to chat was so awesome. She was with some other guy I haven't met before but seemed nice, I think she called him Keith but I can't recall what his character was named (he was a 58 Captain for the record for all the 3 of you here who might care XD). At first glance I thought it was Khonsu or one of his alts, as he's another cool guy we play with and who is kinda joined at the hip with Nai (he's even referred to outings with them, myself, and
believeitup as double dates, heh), but it wasn't. He did join for a bit later though, and had to leave early as he worked at like 5am or something insane today. Then Beoran, another cool guy from the game, logged on and joined us, and we all just hung out for a bit and helped him catch up on epic quest stuff. This was about when
believeitup got home and graced us with her lovely presence, and then it was go go go on epic quests until, oh, 6:30am my time, holy the crap. Everyone was dropping and I think we pretty much all signed off at that time, save for the one level 60 hunter who is kinda crazy and relentless, which is probably why he's 60 already, heh.
All in all a good night, though it was waaaaaaaaay way later than I thought it'd be. I honestly was thinking the late night might be tonight, as there's some kin stuff organized for later that should be really fun, but we'll see. I hope it doesn't happen again tonight though, really, because staying up that late on a Saturday night kinda depresses me for some reason. It's just thinking of wasting most of Sunday sleeping in, then not working until late, and having a short last day off before heading back to work on Monday... I don't know, it just makes me feel weird and brings me down, so avoiding that would be nice. Maybe it's a good thing that last night was the late night then, since I have no problems staying up that late on a Friday night / Saturday morning and sleeping in on Saturday, hehe.
Alright, this J.E.W. ep is almost over (it lasted for my typing this whole entry, cool!) so I'm going to go and maybe hit Wal-Mart again, I have a good idea for a gift for my best friend, so I want to check that out. And I may get something for
believeitup's folks too, hmm. If I can get some stuff out of the way today it'd be great and would mean less shopping for me to do next weekend. Because yeah, need to get it all done then, and wrapped, and then the weekend after I will be getting my present, very early but I don't think either of us will mind that one little bit.
