Happy Monday everybody! It's a rainy one here, it's been pouring pretty much since I left my house this morning. I didn't think to take a jacket because it wasn't raining when I left but now I'm just hoping it softens up a bit at the very least when I leave to go home. Thankfully I didn't have to venture out into it for lunch since it's a coworker's birthday and we had Subway here at the office (someone else went to pick it up and got drenched, poor soul).

Things have been busy but good for the most part. The long stretch of bachelor parties and weddings every weekend finally came to a close with the end of July, but both weekends since I've been in the city at least once for other reasons. This weekend I'm hoping I can just stay put. I'd really like to spend it playing FFXIII on the Xbox but, well. That's been kind of broken lately, and by kind of I mean I hope it's not really broken. It's been locking up on me all the time, which is a pain in the ass, let me tell you, and I'm not sure how to fix it. It's not overheating because it's done it almost right away after having been off overnight, and it's not the game discs I don't think because it happens in an area I've played over and over again, in a game I've got 80+ hours logged on, haha. If it's the graphics processor(s) inside the machine then that's that, I guess, but I'm hoping clearing the hard drive's cache again will help; last time I did that it worked for several hours before locking up again. If not my last attempt to save it will be to copy all the HDD data onto a flash drive and to format the drive. Other than that the only other fix that seems to work according to people online is buying a newer model of the system, which we really don't have the money for at the time, so I'd likely have to wait until Christmas or something maybe. We'll see, it's not the end of the world of course but man, I was really, really anxious to get 100% completion in a game for the first time ever and then this had to happen. >.<

Musically there's been a lot of new albums coming out that've grabbed my ear. The latest and best so far has been the newest Gaslight Anthem album, Handwritten, which I love. The latest Garbage and The Hives albums have gotten lots of airtime too, as well as a newish (to me anyway) Cuff The Duke. All kinds of good stuff going on, which is great. I'm also looking forward to the last seasons of shows I watch coming out on video, though the expense of having to buy them won't be fun, heh. I'll just have to be careful and not, like, buy them all at once or something, because that would be Bad. There are so many, off the top of my head there's: Mad Men, How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Community, Parks & Recreation, and more. The last two we've already seen though, but will likely buy for the extras, just not right away I wouldn't think, but yeah. So much tv, so little time.

Writing has sort of hit a brick wall, though I've gotten some recent inspiration that I think will push me through this funk. I'm also trying to log more for XP and even have a plot approved and set out, though note to self, e-mail people about participating and all of that good stuff soon. XD

Well, that's the end of my lunch break. I hope everyone else had a nice weekend and that you all have a great week ahead of you too!

Yay for a bit of downtime, and hope the weather clears up soon!

I keep hearing about Gaslight Anthem from both Designer and Boss, both of whom are huge indie music fans who liked GA before they were cool, I guess :) I'll give them a listen!

Sorry that your writing's been stalled; I'm in the same but, like you, I think I'm ready to work through it soon.
