I finally remembered to take my laptop home from work tonight and installed Linux Mint 6.0 on it, huzzah! It really is much, much faster to surf the 'net / do anything on it now, and it boots / shuts down 1,000,000 times faster than Vista does. Hell, I may just format the whole drive and make it Linux only. Well, maybe not right now, but perhaps one of these days. With Open Office and the like I could still use it for word processing and such like I do from time to time, hmm. We'll see, not gonna rush into anything just yet.

Work has been super busy this week, ugh. It's winding down, as tomorrow is Friday so by definition the week has to wind down, but next week will be just as bad and likely worse. I've got two big things to handle next week, namely a few settlement conferences on Thursday, and a trial on Friday. I've not heard from my client for awhile on that one and I really need to call them tomorrow to see what's up. They're really not taking it as serious as they should, either that or I'm taking it far too serious, but that's kinda my job, isn't it? All I can do is prepare for it either way, I guess, and if they won't take it seriously after all my prodding and reminding then it's not my fault.

Can it be May now, please? ._.

It's been ages since I had my last urge to install Linux, but I came awfully close back in the day when I was running Windows 98 and Me. After XP, I haven't felt the need, since it just kept on ticking. Is there a Windows sim or anything that allows you to run certain apps that don't exist for Linux?

XP is pretty solid, this is true. I put Linux Mint on my desktop more or less for kicks, kinda, or at least to have another option from time to time; on the laptop it was out of necessity, as Vista is such a resource hog, and when I got my laptop I did it on the cheap, so to say, and it's only got 1GB of RAM and a relatively small hard drive. Running Linux on it is way, way better, by far.

I'm pretty sure there are Windows emulators out there, but I haven't looked around for one yet. I'll certainly let you know if I find any though!
