What a long day today turned out to be. It wasn't that bad in the end, really, but busy. The weather turned to crap too and is still pretty ugly, I just hope it clears up so I can drive to St. John's tomorrow for court without much of a hassle.

I found out today that even though I got back from the US without being mugged or robbed, I didn't escape completely unscathed. A quick check of my credit card statement online revealed that someone in Washington, allllllll the way across the country where I never even got close to for the record, had charged a payment of nearly $300 CDN to my account through a T-Mobile bill payment or something like that. I called up the company's number listed on the statement and then my bank to cancel the card, get a new one issued and get an affidavit mailed out to me that I'll need to complete and send back for reimbursement. The bank was extremely helpful, and so was the lady at T-Mobile actually, and it looks like things will be cleared up soon. I was pretty panicked there for a bit though, as there's a lot of room left on that card and it could've been much, much worse. The only thing I can figure is that someone at one of the stores I used the card in used the info for their own nefarious means, since I never actually lost or misplaced it. I was pretty pissed at first but it seems like it's been successfully dealt with for now. Lesson learned; next time I'll just use a lot more cash I suppose, or a debit card. Or traveller's cheques, or something.

In the good news column, I picked up Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360 today and oh boy is it ever fun. I've played it before on the PS2 as my sister's boyfriend got it for Christmas so it's not a surprise that it's so good, really, but it's nice to actually own it. Plus you get a (in my humble opinion) cooler guitar for the Xbox version, plus 10 more songs and the ability to download new ones from Xbox Live eventually (albeit for a fee, of course). Good times!

Alright, since I actually do have work in the morning and court to get to, I should be off to sleep. And here I go!

Holy crap, Jeff. That's insane! I'm so sorry one of my countrymen did that to you.

That's super scary. :| I have the opposite problem though-- everytime me or any of my family travels anywhere, our visas always end up getting "blocked" because they think someone is using our cards illeagally. EVEN when we've called in advance to tell them we're going somewhere.

I think it's kind of depressing that they're busy blocking the credit cards that AREN'T stolen, and let the ones that are being used illeagally go through. :\ Apparently their detection system needs a little work.

It is, ugh. I think it's probably because I was in the US for 2 weeks not too long ago so it might've made sense to them. Still, I was waaaaaay on the east coast, not over in Washington. Yes, that detection system does need a little work. XD
