Ok, first off, I finished my mood theme set! FINALLY! I think it looks ok, though some images aren't quite 100x50, and a lot of them mighn't fit the mood exactly. -.-;; But I can tweak it later, for now it's done! :)
Now for the grr part... though I think I'll put it in a cut because not everyone likes to hear people rant about work and stuff. -.-;;
Ok, there's this application I have to fill out to start a legal action for someone. So we fill it out and mail it out in February or so. It'll take a few months to get this started, stupid interjurisdictional stuff. Anyway, a few months go by, no word. So I call the place we sent it, to see what's up. They say yeah, it takes awhile, so wait and see. This is in May or so, 3 months later. They even send me the first few pages by fax, confirming they had it and all.
Anyway, the client is anxious to get it going, who wouldn't be? And still nothing. So we finally meet with the client today and the boss decides to call the place where we sent the application to see what's up. They fax me a copy of a letter they mailed the client... back in MARCH... saying the application is enclosed because such and such wasn't done, lousy technicalities.
So the client has had the original application FOR FIVE MONTHS and the goddamn place we sent it to KNEW THIS WHEN I SPOKE TO THEM IN MAY! But no one tells me, and all sides are wondering why the fuck it's taking so long.
Here's where I hit the keyboard with my head, thusly:
mnb nb nb nbmmnb mnb mn nbvcbv
Ok, better... ow. ;_; And I guess the boss probably blames me for it all, d'oh! Stupid clients and stupid people that should've told me they didn't damn well have it when they implied they did! >.<
Ok, that made me feel better.
*goes to check the Criminal Code to see if stupidity is a valid defence to beating a client* ...damn.
Ooh, that reminds me, I looked up something for
velvetglitter in the Code:
(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1), where an accused is charged with an offence under section 151 or 152, subsection 173(2) or section 271 in respect of a complainant who is twelve years of age or more but under the age of fourteen years, it is not a defence that the complainant consented to the activity that forms the subject-matter of the charge unless the accused
(a) is twelve years of age or more but under the age of sixteen years;
(b) is less than two years older than the complainant; and
(c) is neither in a position of trust or authority towards the complainant nor is a person with whom the complainant is in a relationship of dependency.
So those are the three exceptions to statutory rape basically, hehe. As long as there was consent from the other person, and that other person is <=12 but <14. *nods*
And this... well, this is just funny hehe. Basically Section 67 talks about what peace officers and other people (including wardens and mayors heh) have to say if a riot breaks out, to control the crowd. Ollllld law and still on the books hehe. But they have to say this:
"Her Majesty the Queen charges and commands all persons being assembled immediately to disperse and peaceably to depart to their habitations or to their lawful business on the pain of being guilty of an offence for which, on conviction, they may be sentenced to imprisonment for life. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN."
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN, INDEED! :)
I love this song, by the way. The last few lines are almost a Universal Truth. Show me someone who's never felt that way and I'll show you a lucky person. Or a liar, I guess, heh.
