canadiandiamondThis was a nice, relaxing one, to be sure. My folks left for most of it to stay at their trailer they've got set up and it was exceptionally quiet around the house. I didn't really do much aside from watch a bunch of movies (Star Trek II-IV inclusive and The Reader today), play a decent amount of LOTRO (mainly Friday night, Saturday night, and probably for an hour or two tonight with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
believeitup but that won't be for fun... that's a whole 'nother story/entry, heh), and read a little bit. I may actually go read for a bit before she gets home.
I've been trying to write but have no idea where to even start, which is kinda frustrating. I installed OpenOffice on the new machine and it can open all my old .wpds and .docs alike, which is a must. I went back and reviewed an old NaNo of mine ('05) and reviewed the idea I had at the time. Which isn't a horrible one, really, but wow do I really hate my writing when I reread it like that. XD I may play with the idea again on my own and start from scratch, using those ~10k words or so for some inspiration, but I don't know. We'll see how that unfolds, I guess; the main thing is I have a word processor up and running now and can access all my old stuff, which is important.
Other than that, not much else to report. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but that's nothing new. This week shouldn't be too, too bad, here's hoping anyway, and then next weekend is a long one, since Monday is a holiday. I forget which, which is bad, but hey, it's still a holiday, so yay! The next one is for Canada Day, which unfortunately falls on a Wednesday, but as it happens my wife usually gets Wednesdays off so I can spend time with her on that Tuesday night which will still be nice, even if it won't be a 3 day weekend.
Alright, off I go to entertain myself for the last few hours of the weekend. Hope everyone else had a good one!
