So, I finally got a chance to see this movie.
Overall, I thought it was ok. Mostly eh, but ok. I only paid $6 to see it, and it was far from crowded, so it was worth that much at least.
Things I liked about it:
- I really like Iceman, even though he's different from the comic version(s). There wasn't as much of him and Rogue and the other younger kids as I thought there'd be, but I generally liked them when they were onscreen.
- Hank was pretty awesome, though he could've used more lines I think. Maybe it's just me, but he didn't seem as verbose as I think he is in the comics. Good just the same though, and of course he gave us the line. :D
- Jamie was neat too, even if there wasn't a lot of him. Well, there were a lot of him literally, but timewise I mean. XD
- The clip at the end. Moira! That's pretty cool, though it wasn't too surprising that Xavier's mind is now in that body, what with the foreshadowing and all. I knew there was an extra bit at the end from others' posts, but not what it was about. I was thinking maybe they'd show something about Scott, but nope.
Thinks I didn't like:
- Magneto and his reaction to Mystique's being "cured". Not that he's supposed to be Mr. Cuddles or anything, but it seemed harsher than it should've been for some reason.
- Too much Storm for my liking. Ugh, Halle Berry. Why? ._. And a lot of Logan too, though I don't really dislike him as much as everyone else seems to, heh.
- Juggernaut in that whole scene with chasing Kitty. Ok, I know the Ulti one is a mutant and all, but I'm much more used to the old, original one, so seeing Leech affect him like that just seemed too wrong to me, hehe.
- Not nearly as much Warren as I thought there'd be. Especially when they had that scene at the beginning before the opening credits! Sigh. I've never been a huge fan of him, but since I've been playing him in d_x he's grown on me a little.
- The whole "everybody must die!!!1" thing. What the heck? Jean dying wasn't surprising, since she's died 1,000,001 times in the comics and comes back, but Xavier and Scott were surprising to me. Especially Scott, and the fact that not much was shown of it or mentioned about it later on. Boo-urns to that.
Overall, it was worth the $6 I shelled out for it, and I'll probably end up buying the DVD anyway, since I already have the first two, heh. Might even see it again if anyone I know needs to see it with someone. I think one of my buddies who'd already seen X2 came with me to see it the first time I saw it, heh. So I'd be willing to return the favour. It was good, though I still like X2 the best out of all three of them. I couldn't really pick out Psylocke and didn't know who that Calypso character was until I read all of y'all's reviews after I came home. XD *sucks*
