canadiandiamondRandomly, I need some How I Met Your Mother icons, hmm. I have seriously become a bona fide bigtime fan of the show, haha, and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Season 6 on DVD so I can catch up; I've mainlined 1-5 in the last several weeks or so.
Anyway! What's up with me, besides my newfound love of HIMYM (as us fans are oft to abbreviate said show), you ask? Quite a lot, actually! I'll put this behind a cut because lord knows there's likely very few of you who will find all of it interesting, maybe a few who will find parts of it, but that's about it. XD
I don't want to get into work too much, because I'm trying to be positive, haha, but things have been going way better there after one particularly worrisome file has been put behind me. It's still super busy, but way more manageable now.
As discussed above, I've been watching a lot more TV lately. The return of Big Brother has me tuning in every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday night, though it's over now next week I do believe. It's reality TV I know but it's my guilty pleasure I guess. I've also watched Season One of Archer, which I've had for ages but haven't watched, until now. It's pretty amazing, gotta say, pretty raunchy though haha, but very funny too. And I also decided to subscribe to Netflix and have been working my way through Seasons Two and Three of The IT Crowd since I got it.
Oh, and the main reason I have Netflix now is because I went out and bought a PS3, heh. They dropped a good deal in price and I'm hoping to get to play the new NHL 12 game with my buddy Brad in Saskatchewan once it comes out next week. The PS3 allows you to play online for free, which is awesome, whereas the Xbox 360 won't let you unless you pay a yearly membership fee. Plus Brad has a PS3, plus my cousin Terry does as well, and we've been playing MLB 11: The Show
since I picked that up for the system as well. The lag has been a little bad, unfortunately, which makes it really hard to hit the ball and/or pitch precisely, which is pretty much the whole game, heh, but I'm hoping hockey will be a lot better. believeitup and I move into our home we'll be getting a much better internet connection than what we have here, so it should be ok then.
Let's see, what else... still playing LOTRO, which has sort of stagnated for me lately for a bunch of reasons. I still mainly play on Friday and Saturday nights since I can't be around any other late nights due to work, and in a few weeks' time there'll be an expansion that will let us gain 10 more levels on our characters, so I'm looking forward to that. I've also been playing another game, which I can't talk about due to an NDA, haha, which only allows me to say that it exists and that I've played it, but that's it. XD Anxiously looking forward for the NDA to be lifted and/or a release date to be announced so I can talk more about it, which I will most definitely do. :)
Musicwise, I've been blown away by The Gregory Brothers, who are mostly famous for their Auto-Tune The News series and the like, but I've been checking out their original music and their other projects, which has been awesome. In particular this song (sung by the amazing Sarah Gregory) has been in my head for days now. I've actually bought their original EP and that track on iTunes because I like them so much. They're working on a pilot with Comedy Central apparently as well so I'm really hoping they'll blow up big time in the next little while.
I've also signed up to write some fic, woo! Atspook_me which looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Some people are signing up for several fics and I'm tempted to do the same, but I don't want to overdo it. So I've only signed up for the one and am looking forward to getting started. I'm going to treat it as a warmup for NaNo, perhaps, hmm.
Oh, and I have another character to play in XP, Cannonball, which is awesome, and there's been an amazing love thread posted where players make positive comments about one another that's just been very fun and inspiring. :D Such a great idea, and such a great game, I'm so glad that I joined up. :)
That's about it off the top of my head, I should hit the hay since I've work in the morning, an unexpected return to court but what can you do? I'm sure there was more I meant to say but it's slipping my mind now, ah well. I can always post again later if I think of anything. :)
