1. Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly - This was the first one to pop into my head. Even when he's playing Caleb, Captain Hammer, the Holy Avenger, or Castle (have never seen the latter, actually, shame on me), Nathan Fillion will always be Mal Reynolds to me. Such an awesome character, with so many strengths and flaws, it's amazing how much we got to see of him (and the rest of the outstanding cast) in the little amount of time we got from the franchise in the far too short lived series and feature film. He was a fighter, a tough man, yet he always looked out for his own, his crew, his family. The tight bond he had with Zoe, the way he looked out for Kaylee, the relationship he had with Inara, god, I just want to see more of it but we probably never will. :(
2. Rachel Berry, Glee - Ahh, Rachel. While I'm not a huge fan of how much the show has revolved around her in the past (though they've made some attempts to change that), I do like the character. Maybe it's my inner!geek relating to being somewhat of an outcast in school, high school anyway, or her dedication to wanting to be a performer so bad (I used to harbour the same kinda dreams for a short time back in the day, only as part of a band, not singing at aaaaaaall), but I do like her. She can be annoying as hell at times, though, and I still lol and wtf at the whole beginning of season two when she sent Sunshine to an effing crack house, hahaha. XD
3. Ralph Wiggum, The Simpsons - Good ol' Ralph. So many classic one liners from him, at least from when the show was at its peak anyway. "Me fail English? That's unpossible!" "My cat's breath smells like cat food." "I bent my Wookie." etc. Still love the Valentine's episode they did where he was crushing on Lisa, that's one of the classics for sure, with the Choo-Choo-Choose You and the Bee Mine valentine cards, haha. XD
4. Roger Stirling, Mad Men - I keep oscillating between thinking he's a great businessman and that he's a huge asshole, haha, but he's definitely a complicated character and always interesting to watch on the show. Without getting into specifics or spoilers for others who aren't up to date with the show, I'm wondering what they're going to do with him this season, last season ended off pretty interesting.
5. Robert Drake, X-Men - Haha, almost forgot about this guy because I always think of him as Bobby, whoops. Probably my most favourite comic character, though I haven't read anything new with him in it for a long, long time. I miss playing him in various games like I did years ago, I always felt pretty comfortable writing him, probably the most comfortable of any canon character I've ever used. Everything about the character resonates with me, his sense of humour and his use of it to mask his feelings or thoughts at times especially. His powers are also very cool, pun intended. :D
Not much to update on, really, other than I managed to deal with what was a very worrisome issue at work on Friday. While it's not 100% resolved, the vast majority of what was worrying me about it has been taken care of and things are way, way better than they were. I can't even tell you about how much it was bothering me (both for lack of words to describe it and confidentiality reasons XD) but suffice it to say I'm feeling way better now.
Other than that, since there's always got to be some drama, LOTRO created more kin related craziness last night, ugh. I'm hoping it'll be ok but honestly, last night I was just so emotionally drained from dealing with work stuff that I could not cope. I'm hoping things get resolved alright, though some key people will be absent tonight so it may not be tonight, but we'll see I guess.
I'm hoping to get back on track with XP now that my work issues have mostly passed, or at least have reverted back to the normal level of crisis that they're always at, heh, so that's good too. :)
