I missed yesterday's entry due to some very sad news (fellow friends of
believeitup and
onlyonechoice know what I mean :() and also due to the closing of our house - Sara and I are now homeowners. All in all in made for a very busy day and, with a trial today and wanting to go see the new house last night, I didn't spend much time on LJ. What little time I did spend on the PC was eaten up by a Thursday night raid and then it was straight to bed as I actually got up early today and was one of the first people in the office for a change, to prep for the trial, haha. Jokes were made at my expense too, good-natured ones of course, heh.
So, yes, today it's a two-for-one special. The first song, a song that reminds me of a specific event, is:
Cake's cover of this song is awesome, and it reminds me of the last Winter Carnival Talent Show I did with Burke House. It was one of the songs we did, covering this version, and leading up to the show I transcribed the solo myself and played it in the show, although due to time constraints (2 songs and had to be less than 5m, I think, or close to it maybe, I forget) we skipped the second half of the solo. Ahhh, memories. I would kill for an mp3 of that performance, one of the other houses used to record the shows and I do have an mp3 of our performance from the year before (I played, sound quality was shit though, it sounds so bad, and yes, it wasn't all us XD) but never could find one of this show. :/ We also did Say It Ain't So at the same time, it was a deadly combination of songs, and I loved rocking them both out.
And, for a song that you can dance to, I chooooooooose:
Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmee Syyyyyyyyyyyyympathyyyyyyyyyyyyy... *dance dance dance!* Love, love, love Metric, especially the new album. :D :D :D
Excuse me, I'm off to go dance. :D
