ugh sunday already?

So this weekend went pretty well. Friday after work I headed into the city, going out that night to a party for a friend which was fun. I saw people I haven't seen in months, had a lot of drinks with them and just chilled. Very cool, although that night there was a fire at the Aliant building that knocked out every cell phone in the area along with a lot of land lines and internet services.

Before going out to that I had to stop at the mall to get a gift, which ended up being a $20 gift card at HMV. I also spent more than that on myself, getting the new Hip album I didn't know was out (World Container) and this other cd just based on a blurb the store put up, by The Be Good Tanyas (Hello Love). They're both very good, especially the latter. It has a hidden track that's a cover of When Doves Cry, which everyoung thought she had drove me to listening to because of her teasing. Which is partly true, but just not the Prince version. ;)

Today I saw The Prestige with one of my friends. It was pretty darn good, though the big twist in it could've been hidden better or something, I think. Maybe we just fluked into it but we had both figured it out about halfway through the film. Which doesn't really take anything away from it because I still liked it a lot. I came home around supper time because mom came into the city with me to keep my sister company, though there are still some movies I'd like to see if I get the time. Namely The Departed and Marie Antoinette if I can.

Speaking of my sister, she knows for sure now that she's presenting a paper in Philadelphia this coming March, so I'll definitely be heading that way around that time. I need to find out what time exactly so I can start planning things out, but it's very exciting just the same. My sister mentioned going to NYC afterwards too, then coming home from there, which would rock. :D

And on that happy note it's off to bed for me!
