canadiandiamondThis weekend's been pretty good so far, though I haven't really done all that much. I actually went to bed last night while Leno was still on, which is a very rare occurrence for me. I've caught up on a lot of reading though and plan to get some more in tonight perhaps. Right now I'm watching Comedy Central's Celebrity Roast of William Shatner, which I've seen before but is pretty great. Before this though I actually got out of the house and popped into our local cinema to catch the new Batman flick. It's pretty rare that they get new releases right away and I couldn't resist checking it out.
Overall, I really liked it. Heath Ledger really did a great job as the Joker, which was no big surprise after all the hype. I can see him getting the posthumous nomination for an Oscar that everyone's all a-buzz about but I don't think he'll actually win it. That's just my prediction though, he still did a fantastic job with the role.
Part of the reason I went to see it by myself tonight was because of all the attention its getting from everyone and their mother. Hearing all of that, even if it's not spoilers, it only ends up raising my expectations to an unrealistic level and letting me down a little. I think this ended up happening with The Dark Knight, though not to a huge degree or anything, which makes me very glad I saw it tonight instead of waiting even longer.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling. Bottom line: very good movie, which I will likely end up seeing again when my cousin wants to go and see it next week sometime.
That's about all I've done this weekend but that's fine by me. Tomorrow will likely involve popping into the office for a few hours but other than that I don't plan to do anything at home either, which will be nice. Now back to the Roast!
