I haven't written anything here in ages, oops. Things have been pretty busy with work and in my spare time I've been watching play-off hockey / video games instead of writing on here. That and playing around with Facebook, which everyone seems to be on all of a sudden lately, so weird but cool at the same time.
I blew a lot of money this weekend, mainly on Friday night by buying myself an early gift, namely a Wii hehe. They've been hard to find so I pounced on the one I did spy in Wal-Mart, and Friday night was mainly filled with hooking that up and playing with it. Good times! I got the 420p cables with it too so it looks pretty good. Not as good as the 360 of course, but it's like comparing apples and oranges in my books, really. One's all about power and performance and the other's all about fun and interactivity, kinda. Anyway!
On Saturday I got up and headed to the city, intent on just hanging out with a friend and getting my sister who was coming out for a few nights. However she intended on staying in and by the time I figured that out it was just as well for me to stay in, even though I didn't pack any extra clothes or things like that. The afternoon was great though, we saw
Hot Fuzz which was amaaaaaaaazing. Seriously, you all should see this movie, especially if you liked
Shaun of the Dead at all. Then we met up with my sister and went out for supper, then shopped for a bit, where my sister got me season one of
Weeds and a game controller for my birthday gift. Which I won't get until tomorrow, but it's all good. I dropped her off at her place then so she could work on her thesis and my friend and I got another quick bite to eat (this was several hours after supper) and hung out until after 1am.
As I was leaving there, my sister called to tell me that her boyfriend, who went downtown drinking, had come home and was very, very sick, heh. She wanted me to call her before I came back to her place since it was a mess and she wanted to clean it up before I got back. I was on my way back anyway and asked if she needed anything to do that, so then I went to the 24 hour Sobey's, which is a big grocery store chain here, and picked up some laundry detergent so she could wash his clothes, and picked up some stuff for myself. It was weird because while the place was open, they had a sign saying the registers close every Saturday night (technically Sunday morning) from 1-1:30am for maintenance, but they didn't open until closer to 2am. There were a nice few people there too, all grumbling about how long it was taking, hehe. I didn't mind because I wasn't in a hurry to get back to that mess. XD
By the time I got back everything was neat and the drunken one had gone to bed, so it was all good. I ended up talking to
everyoung for a long time and then going to sleep after watching some poker on tv. Then today I dropped off a birthday card and a dozen beer to my friend whose birthday is today, hehe, and chatted with him and his wife for like 2 hours while Jen and her boyfriend got ready to come out with me. I also popped into the mall again and bought a Wii game, just a cheap one (Rampage, which may not be the best but I enjoy random monsters beating up buildings, sue me) and rented a couple as well at Blockbuster for good measure. Since I've been home I've been playing around with that and just generally being lazy. Good times!
I have to work tomorrow, even though it's a provincial government holiday for some places for St. George's Day. We got St. Paddy's day off but not this one, which sucks. We had both at my old place and apparently we had this one off last year when I wasn't here but the boss isn't giving it to us this year, boo. Ah well, what are you gonna do.
Right now I'm off to watch the rest of Detroit / Calgary on CBC and get some sleep, maybe with some Wii-age in between the 2nd and 3rd period. :D
